Happy 2012
Happy New Year everyone. Many of you have been feeding your customers so hardly restful however I hope you managed to find time to celebrate round a table with those close to you. Our family Christmas included Inverawe organic oak smoked salmon, local turkey with every trimming imaginable and my Mum’s fabulous flaming Christmas pud washed down with champagne. To finish I made mini gingerbread houses to perch on the rims of our cups.
We also had a sublime supper with Bengt and Annette last week. Bengt is Slow Food Scania Leader where my husband Bosse is on the committee. Annette prepared local produce on an Italian theme with an aromatic soup, skewered meats with spicy tomato relish, tiramasu, a nut gateau served with soft blue cheese (Humphrey’s Lanark Blue is perfect for this), with macchiatos and limoncellos to finish. 8 hours later after a wonderful time we wandered home! Life quality!
2012 will no doubt have its challenges but us northerners are made of strong stuff so hae a guid one!
