Celebration time!
It has been a week for celebrating Scotland at its best. For a small country we certainly punch above our weight. Our heritage of hospitality, baking, great soups and salads all come together in our lovely cafés and tearooms across the land.
Celebrating their well-earned success this week is McTaggarts in Aberdour who won the coveted Best Eatery Award at the Fife Retail Business Awards, (above photo courtesy of Awards) an award based on public votes, mystery shopper tests and site visits. McTaggarts have created a top notch eatery, creatively designed and with a menu of tasty dishes in what was the old Co-op building in this historic village. Back in our capital, Victor and Carina were also celebrating, with the opening of their newly
refurbished Contini George Street. The décor is inspiring: calm soft pewter grey with wonderful rococo feature walls. Candles and banquettes, majestic pillars and immaculate table settings - this venue has style in spades. The fabulous menu will give you not just a taste of Italy but a complete mind, body and taste bud experience of finest Italian cooking using many of our finest local producers in there too! The canapés at their opening were miniatures of every dish and my thanks and praise to the skilled and passionate chefs who, along with Victor and Carina, gave us all such a memorable evening. buon appetite! http://www.contini.com
Congratulations to Robert and his Mr C’s Handcrafted Pies as he was justly awarded the top Diamond Award for his Salmon & Smoked Seafood Charcuterie Pie at the World Championship Scotch Pie Awards.
